EUROCARS ANNOUNCED AS NEW SERIES SPONSOR
The organisers of the Manx Rally Championship are delighted to announce leading island garage Eurocars as the new title sponsor.
Eurocars are the island dealers for Renault, Peugeot and Citroen, and in addition have a motorsport parts and accessories department, making the championship an idea partner.
Eurocars Motorsport was born out of the success of their Renault motorsport operation and covers not just Renault accessories, but all leading manufacturers products. With a long involvement in the international scene, they supply a range of competition items from leading manufacturers. Examples include S.P.A, Stilo, Willians, K&N Filters, EBC sports brakes and Piper Cams & exhausts.
In addition to the showroom they have full on-line sales at eurocarsmotorsport.com
Phil Crimp, Motorsport Manager for Eurocars, says, ‘We are delighted to increase our involvement in one of the islands major sports by sponsoring its premier title. The Manx Rally Championship has a long and distinguished history, helping to develop some of the British Isles leading drivers and co-drivers of recent times. We very much hope that Eurocars’ support will help the organisers develop the series still further.’
Manx Auto Sport and Druidale Motor Club, who jointly promote the series and between them organise the five qualifying events, are also thrilled with the arrangement.
‘It is great to have found such a high profile new sponsor’, says Manx Auto Sport Chairman Chris Kelly. ‘We thank Eurocars Motorsport for their support and we very much look forward to working with them.’
In particular, Eurocars’ garages and showrooms on Peel Road, Douglas, will be the venue for scrutineering and signing-on for both competitors and officials before each of the events, expanding upon the support the clubs have received for several years.
Carine Walker, Druidale Motor Club Chairman, believes the sponsorship will help the championship grow. ‘The clubs are committed to developing the events and we are quite ambitious in that aim. The involvement of Eurocars is very welcome and we hope it will increase public awareness of the championship and the rallying talent that we have here on the island.’
The Eurocars Motorsport Manx Rally Championship has five rounds over a variety of terrain. It begins on the first weekend of February, and continues through to the final round in early December.
